Challenge & Results
"Social Justice Through Social Media Pop Cultures" is a public scholarship initiative launched by the TikTok Cultures Research Network (TCRN) and Social Media Pop Cultures Programme at CCAT, Curtin University. Building upon the success of TCRN's 4th event, "TikTok and Social Movements," the project aims to explore and analyze various social justice movements on social media platforms.
The project seeks to provide comprehensive insights into key themes, genres, and features of social (in)justice movements on social media, with a focus on English language sources and an emphasis on the Asia Pacific region.
As part of the team, I contributed to the project by conducting a thorough literature review of existing academic resources and compiling a comprehensive survey of TikTok content. By synthesizing diverse case studies and resources, our efforts aimed to enrich understanding and discourse surrounding social justice movements in the digital age.
